This side descripes the installation of the needed packages for the ShopFloorManagementPackage if the Hummingird system is running on a server and the output of NC-data comes from a local workstation.

 

Packages and their description

  • hyperMill-AddIn

The hyperMill-AddIn is responsible for the output of NC programs from hyperMill and the transfer to Hummingbird.

  • Hummingbird DesktopAppPlus

The DesktopAppPlus is the user interface of Hummingbird. After the first start of the DesktopAppPlus the system will register the workstation and creates a virtuell workstation with the name of the workstation.

Important: If the DesktopAppPlus will not open please open your ports in your firewall (TCP, 2444)

  • Hummingbird-Interface

The Hummingbird-Interface is a folder structure and the transfer point from hypermill to Hummingbird. hyperMill calls the hummingbird communication module, which lies in one folder and which triggers the import of all datas into Hummingbird.

Installation guide

1 - Hummingbird-Interface installation

  1. download and unzip the file 'Hummingbird-Interface'
  2. if not existing create a folder on C named Hummingbird
  3. copy the unzipped folder in 'Hummingbird'-folder on C
  4. the folder structure should be now C:\Hummingbird\Hummingbird-Interface

2 - Hummingbird DesktopAppPlus installation

  1. download and unzip the file 'Hummingbird-DesktopAppPlus'
  2. copy the unzipped folder App into the 'Hummingbird'-folder on C
  3. the folder structure should be now C:\Hummingbird\App\DesktopAppPlus

3 - hyperMill-AddIn installation

  1. download and unzip the file 'hyperMill-AddIn'
  2. copy the extracted folder into the hyperMill-AddIns folder on C:\Program Files\OPEN MIND\hyperMILL\3x.x\AddIns
  3. open the xml file 'omHbNcs.xml' and check the pathes
  4. if necessary adjust all the pathes in XML to the path where the Hummingbird-Interface folder was installed C:\Hummingbird\Hummingbird-Interface

4 - export NC-Data

  1. open a hyperMill project
  2. open the AddIn in hyperMill for Hummingbird
  3. choose a machine
  4. click on the Hummingbird symbol
  5. NC-Data will be exported from hyperMill into the Hummingbird-Interface folder
  6. a Hummingbird window will open and the import of NC-Data into Hummingbird will be processed

5 - Start Hummingbird DesktopAppPlus and login

  1. Open the shortcut 'Hummingbird-SMSP' in C:\Hummingbird\App\DesktopAppPlus
  2. login with an existing admin user
  • English AdminUser:
    • username: adm
    • password: 111
  • German AdminUser
    • username: admde
    • password: 111

6 - Setup new machine

After an export of NC-datas out of HyperMill for a new machine it is necessary to add the newly created machine app by the Hummingird import to your DesktopAppPlus.

  1. login into Hummingbird with admin user
  2. open menue bar on the top left
  3. open 2-StructureSurfer
  4. open the favorit 'workstation'
  5. type your physical workstation name into the searchbar on the top and click on the arrow on the right side
  6. click on the configuration-object and open the configuration container/register named 'conf'
  7. select the app 'Admin', search for the new machine and select the machine app also
  8. click on save
  9. exit the DesktopAppPlus and open it again
  10. now you should have two apps. One for the admin account and one for the machine

7 - Add a machine picture for the app

  1. login into Hummingbird with admin user
  2. open menue bar on the top left
  3. open 2-StructureSurfer
  4. open the favorit 'WebAppDescription'
  5. type the machine name into the searchbar on the top
  6. click on the machine and switch to the 'docs'-container/register
  7. click on the plugin 'Upload'
  8. upload the picture !!!name of the picture must be the same like the name of the machine!!!
  9. after an additional start of the DesktopAppPlus the machine app has the attached picture

8 - Transfer the NC-data in a local folder

the default folder where NC-Data will be transfered from Hummingbird is C:\temp

  1. login at the machine app with a german or an english workplace user
  2. after login the Hummingbird UserDashboard opens
  3. open menue bar on the top left and change to '2-WorkPlace'
  4. start a job by pressing the process button and press the button with the two arrows
  5. the NC-data will be transfered into the transfer folder

    • username: wp
    • password: 111
  • German user:
    • user: wpde
    • password: 111

9 - Setup the transfer folder for NC-Data

the default folder where NC-Data will be transfered from Hummingbird is C:\temp

  1. login into Hummingbird with admin user
  2. open menue bar on the top left
  3. open 2-StructureSurfer
  4. open the favorit 'Machines'
  5. type the machine name into the searchbar
  6. click on the machine and switch to the 'settings'-container/register
  7. click on the 'edit'-button, change the transfer folder path and save the changes
  8. after restarting the DesktopAppPlus the new settings will be taken
